Much Ado in UK over THE MISTRESS CONTRACT
by Fred Ramey
It has been quite a week (or so) for The Mistress Contract in the UK press. It started, of course, when The Royal Court Theatre announced the coming play adaptation by Abi Morgan.
The Guardian covered the announcement pretty fully.
And The Independent recognized that the concept of the book is as intriguing as we always knew it to be.
The Stir at Cafemom.com immediately realized this thing raises some pretty sticky questions.
Then The Express speculated about “the lure of a red carpet premiere in Los Angeles”. Uhm. What?
But what I really wonder is how my veracity got pulled into this. I never said anything about “the new Fifty Shades”. Who did?: The Daily Mail
Really. It’s a memoir – a strange one, but a memoir. I know it to be true in all its eccentricity. And yes, that really is how the authors talked to each other. It’s been at least a couple of years now, but I heard them, was in a room with them. They sounded just like the transcripts of those tapes.
