Two Unbridled Books Announced as ForeWord INDIES Finalists
Each Year ForeWord INDIES honors the best independent books with their “Book of the Year” award. For 2016, two titles from Unbridled Books have made it as finalists. The books are selected from 2,250 individual entries. Foreword INDIES represent some of the best books from non-Big 5 publishers and authors. Finalists move onto judging by librarians and booksellers, and winners will be announced June 24.
For the category of Non-Fiction / Sports, Dirk Lammers’ creative and informative Baseball’s No-Hit Wonders, a books that explores the history and significance of the no-hitter in baseball. Lammers is an award-winning Associated Press journalist who for years chronicled the New York Mets’ 50-year quest for the team’s first no-hitter. He has spent more than two decades writing thousands of news stories and features for the AP and Tampa Tribune on a variety of topics including business, politics, technology, sports and entertainment.
In the category of General Fiction, Jack Fuller’s One From Without, a corporate boardroom thriller that follows an ex-CIA operative turned CFO who joins a data mining corporation bent on a hostile takeover of a rival company. Jack Fuller passed away shortly after the book’s publication in Spring 2016.
