ForeWord Best of the Year Awards Finalists Announced

ForeWord Reviews has picked the finalists for BOTYA (Best of the Year Awards) for 2012 in the category of General Adult Fiction and among them are two books published by Unbridled, The Bird Saviors and These Things Happen.
Foreword Reviews is an establishment dedicated to the review of independent books. In addition, an annual book-of-the-year competition offers 180 awards in 60 different genres, along with $1500 prizes to the best fiction and nonfiction titles.
The Bird Saviors was written by William J. Cobb and published by Unbridled Books in the Spring of 2012. It is a story set in the stark landscape of the desert southwest in some very near future. A young unwed mother must find her way in a world damaged by a ravaging bird flu epidemic and drought while dealing with her radically religious father.
Richard Kramer, Emmy and multiple Peabody award winning writer, director and producer of numerous TV series, including Thirtysomething, My So-called Life, Tales of the City, and Once and Again is the author of the second book nominated, These Things Happen. It was published in November of 2012, by Unbridled Books. These Things Happen is the story of a modern family. Fifteen year old Wesley, a tenth grader, has moved from his mother and stepfather’s home to live with his father and his father’s male partner for a school term so that father and son might have a chance to bond again. The novel was also recently nominated as a finalist for the Lambda Award. See blog post
