Authors Blog About Virginia Pye and RIVER OF DUST
On the official day of the book launch for Virginia Pye’s River of Dust, prominent authors have added to their blogs information and pontification about her and her new novel, an Indie Next Pick.
David Abrams, author of Fobbit, a comedy about the tragedy of war, has added Virginia Pye to his regular feature, My First Time on his website known as “The Quivering Pen”, in which writers talk about virgin experiences in their writing and publishing careers, ranging from their first rejection to the moment of holding their first published book in their hands. River of Dust is Virginia Pye’s debut novel about an American missionary couple living in China in the early 1900s whose toddler is stolen by Mongol bandits.
Virginia Pye holds an MFA from Sarah Lawrence College and has taught writing at the University of Pennsylvania and New York University. A three-term president of James River Writers, a literary non-profit in Richmond, Virginia, she writes award-winning short stories that have appeared in numerous literary magazines, including The North American Review, Tampa Review and The Baltimore Review. She currently lives in Richmond.
