The Lola Quartet Makes Amazon’s Best Books List
Author Emily St. John Mandel has recently been gaining the attention of the publishing industry as well as literary aficionados everywhere. Mandel was awarded the #1 IndieNext pick in 2010 for her second novel, The Singer’s Gun. In 2012, she was again awarded the #1 IndieNext pick for her latest novel, The Lola Quartet. She is the only author ever to receive this honor for back-to-back novels.
In her latest triumph, Mandel’s work has again been singled out for greatness. Amazon.com, the world’s largest on-line bookseller, features a section called “Editor’s Picks This Month”. The Lola Quartet was included in the list of the top 10 for the category of “Mystery, Thriller, and Suspense”. The list will remain active throughout the month of May.
The Lola Quartet is a novel about a young man, disgraced and fired from his newspaper job, who returns to the Florida town of his birth to begin searching for a daughter he has only recently learned may exist and who could be at considerable risk.
In a “starred review” by Library Journal, the book has been lauded as ““Riveting….Evocative, intriguing, and complex…”.
